Bright Colors at Kemp Auto Museum

This past July, bright colors were the name of the game here at Sisters. Check out this show-stopping color scheme for mid-summer at the Kemp Auto Museum.

The bridal bouquet (above) and the bridesmaids' bouquets (below) all had pops of greens, oranges, corals and yellows. The bride accented her flowers with white, pearled stephanotis.

The aisle at the ceremony was decorated with these bright clusters of wedding flowers. They were used later in pairs as short centerpieces at the reception.

Tall, colorful vases of mixed summer flowers jumped out against the black linens and floors of the Kemp.

These vases were prepared with thin, turquoise wire to be used with the aisle decorations as centerpieces.

We think the flowers make the cars look pretty, too! :)

The Kemp is such a great venue for color! Such a refreshing summer color scheme!

Peonies in July!

We've blogged about it before, but sometimes the unexpected really does happen!! Robin, a sweet bride of ours, who married Paul in July, really wanted peonies in her bouquet. We told her we couldn't promise anything, since the July heat makes them nearly impossible to get. When the white peonies showed up at our studio, we were in awe! We had managed to get them in and they looked awesome! We were so happy to make that part of Robin's dream wedding day come true. Here are more pictures from Robin and Paul's special day. (Thanks to Von Devore Photography for these beautiful shots!)

Roses and peonies were what Robin envisioned for her bouquet.

Robin and Shayna, from St. Louis Wedding Consultants. We worked closely with Shayna to put details together for Robin's wedding.

Why is it that guys always look cuter in tuxes?? :)

The reception at Kemoll's used lots of red for a romantic feel. We provided tall vases full of red makara orchids and curly willow at half of the guest tables.

More red orchids for the cake!

We can't always promise a flower miracle here at Sisters, but we always try to make this possible. Sometimes, when we need a little luck, the flower gods smile on us! Best wishes to Paul and Robin!!!

All Tied Up

A simple way to add flair and personal touches to your bouquets is to choose a unique wrap. Sometimes, a fancy ribbon or special pins can really add a lot.

This is a black satin under a patterned green and black ribbon.

Navy satin wrap lines the lace of this bouquet.

Damask print ribbon accented the linen for the reception at this wedding.

Criss-crossing ribbon is also popular. You can either criss-cross the ribbon directly on the stems as shown with the red daisies or you can do a color criss-cross over the top of a solid satin ribbon like the yellow and white bouquet.

There are about as many options of wrap as you can imagine so think of something that is uniquely you!

Iris Stands Alone

We love this example of an all iris bouquet. The iris blooms give the bouquet a lot of texture without mixing flowers. Iris also work with other mixed flowers in bouquets, but this is a unique way to showcase their beauty.

Silver Pitchers and Pies, Oh My!

This June wedding had a lot of unique personal touches.

A bagpiper and the groom welcomed guests to the ceremony at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

The soft color scheme was pulled in with lush, textured bouquets.

The bridal bouquet was all peonies and the bridesmaids carried a mix of roses and fillers including Queen Anne's lace.

The reception was held at the History Museum. The bride brought us her own silver pitchers that we filled with loose, gardeny arrangements for the guest tables. All the pitchers were different, so each table's flowers were a little different.

Pie was the dessert of choice for the bride and groom. Many different flavors were offered on this yummy dessert table!!

As always, we wish all the best to the bride and groom!!

Rehearsal Dinner Flowers

Sisters Flowers can take care of not only your flowers on your wedding day, but also for the rehearsal. Here are some of our snapshots of some recent rehearsal dinner table arrangements.

This bride had a very formal and elegant wedding, but wanted a more casual "backyard barbecue" feel at her rehearsal dinner. We mixed some summery colors and flowers and tied on the red bandannas for an extra BBQ touch!

This rehearsal dinner decor was very summery as well. We mixed gerber daisies with other seasonal flowers for a gardeny look.

Your rehearsal dinner can compliment your wedding day decor or it can have a completely different feel. You choose!

Pops of Color

Sometimes having a pastel color scheme doesn't mean you should shy away from bright colors. Here are two weddings that had somewhat subdued color schemes with pops of color.

The bride's bouquet had peach and white accents to her bright pink peonies. Her bridesmaids' bouquets stayed very subdued in just whites and blush pinks.

The centerpieces at the Piper Palm House carried through the pastel peaches and pinks with the pops of pink peonies.

Another bride we had that same weekend also used a pastel color scheme and added in pops of orange. Her bridal bouquet was a very sweet mix of ivories and blush pinks with bright orange ranunculus to accent.

Her bridesmaids carried a slightly brighter version, but still with the ivories and pinks.

Bright kissing ball for the flowergirl!

The centerpieces at Eden Seminary also had pops of orange mixed in with gardeny whites and blush pinks.

Bright colors can mix well with pastels and add an extra "pop" to your event.
