Wedding at St. Francis Xavier & the History Museum

This is a wedding we did last weekend for two great people at two great venues. We enjoyed working with the bride and groom, Sabine and George, and we wish them many years of happiness.
A lot of planning went into making this a gorgeous event! Kudos to Sabrina from Proposing Dreams for giving her all to every detail of this wedding. Spectacular lighting and room decor by Exclusive Events really transformed an already awesome venue. Here are some shots that Christa, one of our employees, snapped during our set-up.

Columns with tall vase arrangements lined the aisle at St. Francis Xavier. The red and white color scheme was carried through in the bouquets as well.

The vases included dendrobium orchids, dahlias, roses, glads, and curly willow.

The reception layout was perfect for the space. The long tables enabled us to do a few flower arrangements on each section of tables accented with candles down the middle.

Tall arrangements of red and white flowers sat on top of tall cube vases with a ti leaf wrap.

Short cube vases filled with red roses and amber LED lights were placed in between the taller vases. The candlelight, hanging lanterns, and LEDs helped bring a warm, intimate feeling to the larger space.

The arrangements from the church were brought to the museum and placed around the room.

The place card table at the museum entrance featured two of the taller arrangements from the guest tables and a large vase with curly willow with hanging votives.

We are so happy to have been a part of this gorgeous event!

Thanks to all our staff who really hustled and gave their best-- just as they always do.

Warning: not flower related

Calling all political animals: Politico has just reported that Obama will announce his VP pick as early as this Wednesday, August 20th and McCain will announce the big news on Friday, August 29th. I am really excited about this election and love politics. Let's make predictions and see who's right. (there are prizes, people!) I'll go first:

OBAMA:

should pick Hilary Clinton, will pick Evan Bayh

MCCAIN:

should pick Dr. Condelezza Rice, will pick Tim Paulenty

now, you click on "Comment" and do the same should and will format.

no bashing anybody! This is for fun, dear hearts.

A Perfect Garden Wedding...

Here is another of our favorite weddings so far this year. Melinda M. and Dan K. had a gorgeous wedding on 6-7-08 at Ascension Chapel and The Gardens at Malmaison. We helped out with the flowers and LOVED how they reflected the personality and style of the bride and the whole event!

Photos by Tim Pastor, Artisan Photography.

Here's a tip for all the men out there (Hint, Hint!): Dan sent his bride of vase full of wedding flowers for her bridal suite to enjoy while getting ready for the big day!

We decorated the outside of the chapel with greenery wreaths for the doors and garland and bows on the railings.

Metal buckets filled with garden flowers in wedding colors decorated the aisle.

The happy couple!

The bride carried all garden flowers and greenery: pink peonies, sahara roses, Queen Anne's lace, link waxflower, dusty miller.

Little, precious ones...

The whole wedding party. The Bridesmaids carried bouquets of the garden theme that included, peonies, roses, astilbe, dusty miller.

Melinda brought us these clay pots that had an old world finish to them. She wanted to keep the earthy theme and told us to make them gorgeous. We filled them with awesome roses, peonies, dusty miller, waxflower, astilbe, etc. to give the ceremony and reception a cohesive look.

This cake has an interesting story. Melinda saw it in a bridal magazine and loved the detailed ribbon. After searching high and low and having no success, she saw this ribbon in a store window while on a trip to New York. She bought enough to decorate the cake and even had left over for her own bouquet! (see above picture)

Special thanks to Liz with Proposing Dreams for making sure everything went smoothly. Best wishes to the newlyweds!! We enjoyed being a part of your day.
