Spring Wedding at Moulin

The spring-like weather has made us reminisce about our favorite spring weddings.  Here is one from last May.  Patti and John enjoyed their wedding and reception at Moulin surrounded by family and friends.  Not only is Patti a former wedding vendor that we have worked closely with, but she is also a friend of the Sisters team.  We were so honored to be a part of their day.  Here are some images by SJ Macky Photography.

Shades of purple were used in all of the flowers for Patti and John.  Loose and textured seasonal blooms including stock flower and tulips were mixed with silver dusty miller greenery.

First look!

The ceremony was held in the Chouteau Room at Moulin.  Fabric draping and tall flowers pieces framed Patti and John during their vows.

After the ceremony, the guests moved upstarts to the Centennial Ballroom for the reception.  The tables were decorated in all lavenders and purples.  Two different centerpieces were used to give varying heights and designs to the tables.

All our best to the bride and groom!!  It was a pleasure!

Vibrant Fall Tones at Moulin

Ellen and Sundeep had a colorful, downtown wedding and reception at Moulin this past October.   White-Klump Photography shot these wonderful images of their day.

Ellen's bouquet was a textured mix of fall shades and blooms including celosia, dahlias, mums, roses, and looped greenery.

Tall bittersweet branches decorated the reception room at Moulin.

Bi-colored roses with accents of curly willow were placed on the guest tables opposite of the bittersweet.

Winter Wedding and Reception at Moulin

This was a very chic winter wedding where the bride and groom had general ideas but really let the team at Sisters Design Studio propose the elements of the decor. The idea was to have a very winter white setting with bare branches and blue accents found in the stationary and linens. Both the ceremony and reception were in the same room at Moulin. These are our own shots of set-up.


All the guest tables were long and sat people all the way around. We came up with three different table layouts mixing white flowers and branches throughout the room.

The ceremony was held in the same room, just off to the side, in front of this beautiful mirror. The wonderful staff at Moulin provided some small tables for us to place several of the guest table elements. These vases doubled beautifully as ceremony decor and were then moved to the guest tables after the vows.







We have done many events in this space at Moulin, but these elements really transformed the look of the room for the bride, groom, and their guests.

Using Your Containers for Centerpieces

We often have clients who have containers or vases that they would like to use for their receptions. Here is an example of just that. This bride had her reception at Moulin and gave us her own amber glassware to use for the centerpieces. These are the snapshots that we took of the set-up.

We filled the bride's containers with a lush arrangements of purple hydrangea.

We also took shots of the ceremony flowers and bouquets. Pink and purple were the main colors of the day.

We made these "altar" arrangements to frame the bride and groom for the ceremony.

The bride carried this lush, garden bouquet of all white and ivory roses and hydrangea.

The bridesmaids carried hot pink roses with purple filler.



It was a very nice color palette for late summer and we had fun working on this one!!

Summer Centerpieces

Here is a "collection" of some of the centerpieces and other flower decor that we've done this spring and summer.

Bright reds and pinks made these roses and freesia pop against the white table linens.

These hurricane candles with a lush flower wreaths were perfect for a summer garden-themed wedding.

Small jars of Esperance roses and bells of Ireland were a great cimpliment to the pink washed walls at the Mad Art Gallery.

Centerpiece Trials

If you don't think you have an eye for visualizing what you've picked for your wedding or event flowers, you might want to consider a centerpiece trial. For a minimal fee, Sisters Flowers offers this service as an option for our booked weddings or events.

We suggest these trials take place about a month from your event, in your event space, so you can get a feel for what the whole room will look like on the actual day. If possible, it's helpful to do this during your tasting so that you can see the centerpiece on the set table with the linens you will be using. If needed, Sisters Flowers can also do centerpiece trials out of our "wedding cottage."

Here is an example of a centerpiece trial that we did for one of our brides at Moulin, a one-of-a-kind event space downtown. This bride is considering doing two different centerpieces at her reception. The first is hot pink roses, submerged inside a rectangle vase. The second is orange tulips, curly willow, and lily grass submerged in a cylinder vase. Both centerpieces are great options for this space.
