Trendy Cascade Bouquets??

Often times, we hear clients refer to "old-fashioned cascade bouquets" as something outdated and not for them.  Recently, we have had an abundance of clients requesting and sending pictures of bouquets that definitely have cascade bouquet characteristics, but with a modern flair. We like to call them mock cascades.  These bouquets do have draping blooms and greenery and are not tight and round.  They have flowers that are more forward-facing as opposed to the hand-tied bouquet look.  However, they are not the old-fashioned teardrop shape and exhibit more of a natural, asymmetrical look.  These mock cascades take all the good points of the popular hand-tied and more traditional cascades and fuse them into something romantic, textural, and modern.  Here are some examples of a few mock cascades we have done just this wedding season.

This example uses the popular blush and ivory tones with natural greenery and soft blooms to create a look that is very unique and romantic.

This bridal bouquet is bright and exciting!  It has many different types of smaller flowers to create a "just picked" look straight from the garden.

The shape of this cascade is more compact than the previous examples, but is still very natural and asymmetrical.  This bouquet has peonies in the background to add to it's lush beauty.

As we speak to more and more clients, we are seeing a trend towards a more natural feel and shape to bouquets and centerpieces.  We hope it continues as we really love this entire look and all that we can create within it!

Bright Colors for a Joyous Spring Wedding

Kristyn and Kevin were just as sweet as can be on their wedding day.  Everything about them and their wedding was vibrant and bright--even the flowers!  Images by TenSixteen Photography.

Such a great photo of Kristyn and her mom!  The bride carried a bright mix of lots of different textures including dahlias, mums, freesia, and lily of the valley.

Monochromatic Yellows

Katherine and Rob's wedding back in May reminds us that spring and bright, warm weather will be back!  Their monochromatic yellows were soft-textured with some bold pops of color.  Images by Kelly Pratt Photography.

Katherine's bouquet was a mix of deep ivory, butter yellow, and bright yellow.  Many textured blooms and greenery brought lots of interest and softness to her bouquet.

The maids carried monochromatic yellow bouquets.

Rob's boutonniere was a white freesia bloom.

The other men wore bright yellow spray roses.

Nuptials and Celebration at 9th Street Abbey

 Melanie and Matt celebrated their June wedding at the 9th Street Abbey in Soulard.  Both their ceremony and reception were held in the historic venue.  Shades of pink flowers added to the brightness of the day.  Photos by Artistic Soup.

The bridal bouquet featured lots of interesting textures and a mix of bright colors and subdued tones.

The ceremony at the Abbey was held in the main room with all the stained glass windows surrounding the bride and groom and their guests.

After the vows, the ceremony room was transformed into the reception room with linens, flowers, and candlelight.

Mount Pleasant Winery Wedding

We had the pleasure of being a part of Kelly and John's wedding this past spring. Their ceremony and reception were held at the always beautiful Mount Pleasant Winery. Here are some breathtaking shots from Burns Photography of that very special day.

The wedding bouquets were all coral and white. The bridesmaids carried coral roses and white freesia to compliment Kelly's white calla and coral rose bouquet.

Bright and Happy

That describes both the bride and the flowers at this wedding!! Lisa and Kevin were married in September. They had a bright, gorgeous day and we got to help with the flowers. Here are some awesome shots of the day by one of our favorite photo artists Clark+Walker Photography.



Lisa's bouquet was a soft, feminine mix of white, ivory, and pink. The bridesmaids had bright fall mixed bouquets with color that jumped right off of their black dresses!

We love the pink in the shoes and the flowers!

There's nothing cuter than a furry friend in your wedding photos!

Bright flowers made another appearance at Lumen for the reception.

Bright Colors at Kemp Auto Museum

This past July, bright colors were the name of the game here at Sisters. Check out this show-stopping color scheme for mid-summer at the Kemp Auto Museum.

The bridal bouquet (above) and the bridesmaids' bouquets (below) all had pops of greens, oranges, corals and yellows. The bride accented her flowers with white, pearled stephanotis.

The aisle at the ceremony was decorated with these bright clusters of wedding flowers. They were used later in pairs as short centerpieces at the reception.

Tall, colorful vases of mixed summer flowers jumped out against the black linens and floors of the Kemp.

These vases were prepared with thin, turquoise wire to be used with the aisle decorations as centerpieces.

We think the flowers make the cars look pretty, too! :)

The Kemp is such a great venue for color! Such a refreshing summer color scheme!
